Since the Covid crisis we have spent much of our time operating locally in the UK, focussing on activities in the Lake District and other not so distant areas such as Yorkshire and the Peak District. We have also resumed our worldwide travel, guiding in the Pamirs (Kyrgyzstan) and in Antarctica in 2022, and in 2023 in the High Atlas of Morocco, the Pamirs, the Caucasus, the Nepali Himalaya and Mount Kenya. This year I successfully guided Lhotse (8516m, the world’s 4th highest mountain), led trips to Peak Lenin and the Ala-Archa region of the Tien Shan, and will be guiding again in Nepal this autumn, where Rebekah will also be leading a trek.
For the duration of the pandemic we sought to work within the legislation and advice of the governments of the countries we operate in, and we will continue to do so. More than this, all of our activities are bespoke and we consider the impact of each trip booked with us on public safety and on the environment. We discuss in advance with participants the precautions we will take to minimise any risks and whether we think it is wise to go ahead. To give you confidence in these uncertain times all bookings made are fully flexible so if things have to be changed because of the Covid situation there’s no problem. We endorse the advice provided for outdoor professionals to help keep their activities Covid secure.
